About the Summit

Healing Spirits, Healing Hearts Summit is an Interfaith virtual gathering focused on bringing together diverse religious and spiritual leaders, social workers, volunteers, advocates, and those with lived experience to address the spiritual needs of our brothers and sisters experiencing homelessness through a compassionate and spiritual lens.

The Summit is part of a much larger movement of Compassionate Interfaith Spiritual Care to the unhoused and aims to serve as a platform for action, inspiration, and learning, where attendees can gain a deeper understanding of the spiritual support needs of those experiencing homelessness, and become equipped to make a positive impact in their communities.

  • Policy Advocacy: Discussing and advocating for policies that address the root causes of homelessness, exploring the impact of compassionate interfaith spiritual care interventions, and support the dignity and rights of families and individuals experiencing homelessness.

  • Networking and Partnerships: Creating opportunities for attendees to network and form partnerships that can lead to collaborative compassionate Interfaith spiritual care projects and initiatives post-summit.

  • Caring for Those Who Care: Creating a supportive community and network where spiritual caregivers can share experiences, seek guidance, support, and find solace among peers who understand their unique experiences. "Caring for those who care" aims to ensure that spiritual caregivers have the resources to maintain their own emotional and spiritual wellbeing and resilience.

  • Interfaith Collaboration: Encouraging leaders and representatives from different faiths and organizations to share insights, teachings, and practices that can aid in providing spiritual care for the homeless, emphasizing the common values of compassion, dignity, and service.

  • Educational Workshops: Providing educational sessions on various aspects of providing compassionate Interfaith spiritual care and support to those experiencing homelessness.

  • Sharing Best Practices: Facilitating the exchange of successful strategies and programs developed by different faith groups or organizations in assisting those experiencing homeless, including outreach programs, and other spiritual support services.

  • Community Engagement: Engaging local communities in discussions about homelessness, breaking down stereotypes and misconceptions, and encouraging volunteerism and active participation in compassionate spiritual care support services.
